Obituary
Jean Shea (nee McDonald) passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on October 8th, 2023.
Jean is predeceased by: her husband, Edwin, parents, Mary (nee Davis) and William McDonald; siblings Brendan, Louis, Joan and Rose; and special cousin, Bessie Redmond.
Family left to mourn with amazing memories are: her children: Brian (Alison) and Joan (Terry); grandchildren: Brendan (Sam), Mary-Kate (Louis) and Jeanne (Nick); and sister Loretta; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jean’s strong work ethic was evident throughout her career from the paper mill to the Premier’s office and in her volunteer leadership positions with the Girl Guides of Canada, the Town of Bishop’s Falls and the Sacred Heart Parish. She was always cheerful and optimistic and saw the good in everything and everyone. She considered every friend to be her best friend. She was a devout Catholic and throughout her entire life she remained true to her faith. Jean’s proudest accomplishment was her family and her love for her family was the very essence of her being.
Our family extends sincere appreciation and thanks to Mary Blanchard, Donna Dobbin and Trixie Hinks for their compassionate and loving care.
Following her wishes cremation has taken place. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 12th at 2:00 PM from Sacred Heart Church, Bishop’s Falls. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bishop’s Falls.
In lieu of flowers or donations, and to honour Jean’s benevolence and generosity, please do a random act of kindness.
