George Alexander Trotter
George passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in his 7th year, at PRHC, from a recent stroke. Beloved husband of 58 years to Gail (nee Crowe). Cherished father to Darlene and Jason (Janice). Proud and amazing grandpa to Jordan (Shannon), Joel (Danielle), and Jenna. Great-grandfather to Abigail. Dear brother to Ruth, John (Barb), Keith (Suzan), and Margaret (Ken) Mark. Loved brother-in-law to Garry Crowe and Lee Moncrief. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Terribly missed by his fur baby Lily. George was predeceased by his parents Edward and Jean Trotter, his mother-in-law Grace Crowe, brother Ted and sister-in-law Joan. George loved sports, still participating in Peterborough Men’s Senior Slo Pitch, and having enjoyed hockey and lacrosse in his younger years. A long-time season ticket holder of the Peterborough Lakers, and fan of the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. He loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, supporting his kids and grandkids in their activities, and lending a helping hand wherever he could. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 at 11:00 am and funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough, Ontario K9J 1C5. Please join the family for a reception immediately after the service. A special Thank You to the PRHC nurses and staff on A3-ICU and A2-Integrated Stroke Unit for their compassionate care.
