GIFFORD, Douglas Victor Geneste 1937 – 2023
Douglas Victor Geneste Gifford in his 86th year suddenly passed Sept 28.
Doug worked for Canadian National Railway as a train dispatcher, retired in 1992 after 37 years of service. He was a Crossing Guard at Princess Ann Public School (Royal Roads) for 15 years where he was fondly referred to as “Grandpa” from all the students and families.
Married to Marion Ann (Boose) for 50 years (June 15, 2009). Doug and Marion had 4 children Terry (Kathleen) Gifford, late Randy Gifford (1961), late Sandy (2021) (Larry) Perks, and Dwayne (Iris) Gifford.
He cherished his relationships with 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Doug is predeceased by his parents Earnest and Myrtle Gifford, 2 brothers Robert and Ken and sister-in-law Gail Gifford.
A private family graveside service will be held at Harris Street Cemetery. A celebration of life will be scheduled later.
Donations greatly appreciated to St James Anglican Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
