Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 85.
Loving mother of Norman and his wife, Ioulia.
Adoring grandmother of Oliver and August.
Beloved aunt and best friend of Jeniffer Homann.
Anita was born in Santiago, Chile. When she was young, she had the opportunity to travel the world as a flight attendant. Anita eventually landed in Canada when she met her late husband, Norman Golightly Sr. During her years in Kitchener she worked as a settlement counselor for the Multicultural Center and an interpreter at the KW Courthouse. She was a proud supporter of The Working Center and the Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Sharp and wise, she loved her news programs and her laptop. Anita continued to travel the world her whole life…and now she has embarked on her next journey.
Anita’s family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
