Bathurst – Mr. Léopold Chiasson, common-law spouse of Marguerite Blanchard, passed away at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on Thursday, September 21st, 2023 at the age of 90.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Richard Chiasson and the late Albina Boudreau.
Besides his common-law spouse, he is survived by his brother, Jean-Claude Chiasson (Aline) of Allardville, his sister, Carmella Vienneau (late Gérald) of Bathurst as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters: Adelle Roy, Jeannette Basque, Simonne Chiasson, Mabel Chiasson, and brothers: Raymond, Xavier and Patrick.
Léopold worked at a pipe-fitter at Doucet’s Landscaping, at the former Brunswick Mines as a bus driver and at W.J. Kent.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 at 2 p.m. from the Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel (www.elhatton.com), Bathurst.
Donations in memory of Léopold may be made to the Diabetes Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
