Obituary of Victoria Normand
It is with great sadness that we announce that Victoria Normand passed away at the age of 66 years at Actionmarguerite, St. Boniface on September 5, 2023.
Left to cherish Vicky’s memory is her caregiver and foster sister Noelline and her husband Eugene Vermette; along with foster sisters Simone St. Hilaire and Martha Chief; and many “nieces and nephews”.
Vicky was predeceased by her foster parents Clemence and ‘Bob’ (Jean) Hupé; foster sisters Doris and Lucille; and foster brother Ric.
Her challenging life was spent with Noelline and Eugene’s family in Ste. Anne, Killarney, Brandon and Lorette, where she enjoyed attending workshops for people with an intellectual disability until she entered the Personal Care Home in Winnipeg.
Vicky was a feisty young woman who enjoyed her independence making her tomato or cucumber sandwiches for her lunch or snack before bed. She loved knitting, watching cartoons, looking after her baby doll, helping in the kitchen and shopping.
A huge thank you to all the nurses and aides and friends, Martina and Suzanne, for their compassionate care at Actionmarguerite.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
