It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Severina Zanette. Passed away at the Elden of Bradford on Monday, September 18, 2023 in her 90th year.
She was a devoted and loving wife to Guerrino for over 60 years, together they shared a lifetime of happiness and cherished memories. Childhood sweethearts, Guerrino left Italy and Severina followed two years later. They were married soon after and were blessed with four children and 6 grandchildren.
Adored mother of Elvy (Mary), Fabio, Luigi (Janet) and Loris (Sonia). Cherished and devoted Nonna to Paul (Nicole), Sarah (Elizabeth), Marc (Kathryn), Nicholas, Michelle and Thomas. Severina will be lovingly remembered by her siblings and their families in Italy. Dear companion of the late Beniamino Mazzolin and will be fondly remembered by his family.
Severina was a woman of strength beyond expectation. She was dedicated and a hard worker who always kept her spirits high. Not unlike many Italian women of her generation, she was the matriarch of her household. She loved to dance, play bocce and cards at the Veneto Club for many years. She tended to her garden with great care and her family will always remember the bounty she would grow and share with them all.
All are welcome to gather at Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial services will be held at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 13440 ON-27, Nobleton on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Nobleton Cemetery.
