Obituary of Ray McChesney
Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on September 14th, 2023, Raymond Leverne McChesney in his 80th year was called home to the Lord.
Beloved husband and best friend of Maria for 40 wonderful years.
Devoted and loving father to Judy (Terry), Bonnie, Lynn, Chris, Deon (Jessica), Carl (Ashley) and Amy.
Adored papa of Kyle, Holly, Marissa, Branden, Dylan, Victoria, Kayley, Zachary, Andrew, Zara, Brooke, Leah, Ava, Jorja, Jovani, Bentley, Mya, Liam and Harper.
Cherished son of Wilfred and Jean (nee Butler) McChesney and younger brother of Velda (Bob) Green and Vivian (Ron) Ireland, brother-in-law to Tony (Silvia) Bettencourt and much-loved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Ray will be remembered and missed for his kind spirit, quiet and gentle nature and hard work ethic, for his love of “Ford” vehicles, specifically his 68 Galaxy, attendance at classic car shows and watching Sunday afternoon Nascar races.
Ray expressed so much gratitude to all who brightened his last months with all the phone calls and visits. A special thank you to nurse Amanda and Wally for all they have done for Ray, you had such a special place in his heart.
As per Ray’s wishes, a private funeral service will take place. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Chrios Care Foundation (Please make cheques payable to Chiros Care Foundation and note the Strathroy Hospice in the memo line) and the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
