PATRICK “PAT” HAMILTON CHESTER
April 20, 1953 – September 14, 2023
After courageously fighting illness at Mackenzie Health Centre in Richmond Hill, Patrick “Pat” Hamilton Chester passed away at the age of 70 years on Thursday, September 14th with his beloved wife Teresa Baxter at his side. Best friends for over 34 years, they enjoyed camping and hiking, music, and baseball. Pat had an appreciation of literature, a keen sense of humour, and was a dog lover.
Pat is survived by his sisters Doris Holder (Doug) of Ancaster and Pam Nagora of Simcoe and nieces and nephew Janet (Jason), Kim and Todd. He was predeceased by his parents David and May (Hyatt) Chester, brother-in-law Neil Nagora and mother-in-law Marilyn Baxter. He will be dearly missed by Teresa’s father Harry “Bud” Baxter of Tillsonburg and brother-in-law Mike Baxter (Linda Lovegrove) of Kitchener, who shared his love of Christmas.
In keeping with Pat’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held from 2-4pm on September 30, at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519)842-5221. He will be laid to rest in Tillsonburg by immediate family at a future date. Donations in Pat’s honour to Friends of Lake Superior Park (www.friendsoflsp.org) Ovarian Cancer Canada (ovariancanada.org), Wellspring (wellspring.ca) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
So… raise a glass for him. Sing along with your favourite album. Take a hike. Hug your dog. And watch a Blue Jays game in memory of Pat.
