It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing
of Edouard “Eddie” Lirette, 94, of Moncton, on Sunday
September 10, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in MacDougall, NB, he
was the son of the late Philippe and Adéline (Allain)
Lirette.
Eddie worked for NB Liquor for 30 years. He was also a
3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus
(Council 6468) and former Scout Master at the
Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church.
He is survived by his four children: Roger (Linda) of
Moncton, Claude (Debbie) of Riverview, Ginette Toussaint of Moncton,
and Roland (Stacey) also of Moncton; seven grandchildren: Christine,
Michelle, Brytney, Jeremy, Cortney, Mélanie, and Ryan; two
great-grandchildren: Kohen and Grayson; as well as many nieces and
nephews. Edouard was the last surviving member of his immediate
family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Dorilla
(née Goguen); his siblings: Pierre, Alfred,
Thérèse, and Edgar, Geneviève, and
Bella all three passed away at a young age.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on
Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 10 am until time of
departure (10:45 am). The funeral mass will be celebrated at
Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 854 Mountain Road, Moncton,
on Thursday September 14 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of
Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Edouard, a contribution to
the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would be
appreciated.
