Gertrude “Tootsie” Stewart
Passed away peacefully at the Salvation Army Ottawa Grace Manor on Sunday, September 3, 2023, Tootsie Stewart of Rawdon, Quebec, age 96. Beloved wife of the late Jack Wise. Loving mother of Ellen Sylvester (Don Durant) of Winchester and Doreen Martins (Tony) of Rawdon, Quebec. Dear sister of Kay Lawless (late Vincent) of Richmond. Dear sister-in-law of Pearl Stewart and Lolly Stewart, both of Rawdon, Quebec. Tootsie will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Dan Martins, Judy Martins and Adam Sylvester (Kristine). She was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Stewart (nee Waddell), her son-in-law Bill Sylvester, her sisters Peggy Appleton (Clifford) and Dorothy Swindell (Tom) and her brothers Bill Stewart (Nan), Tom Stewart (Jean), Dick Stewart, Sam Stewart and Donnie Stewart. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements
A graveside interment service will be held at Mid-Laurentian United Church Cemetery in Rawdon, Quebec at a later date. Donations to the Salvation Army Ottawa Grace Manor would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
