Peter was born in Edmonton, Alberta, October 14,1935, son of Maria
(Solisky) and Stefan Hudz, the little brother to his best friend forever, Thomas, and big brother to his “Dearie”, Helen (Wallingford).
In 1945 the family relocated to Ramsayville Road, Ottawa with step-father Nick Myronyk, who Peter referred to as dad, they worked tirelessly alongside many kind neighbours to survive the never-ending tasks of living on a farm. The family was soon complete with the addition of two more little sisters, Rose and June and a baby brother, Jim.
While Peter loved farming and being surrounded by his dogs and horses, he had dreamed of becoming a police officer from the age of 6 years old. He joined the Ottawa Police Services in November 1959 and retired as a Staff Inspector in October 1995. He was respected and admired by his fellow officers for his honesty, integrity and hard work ethic.
Peter and his wife Claudia (Peters) were together for 56 loving years and were inseparable until her death in 2021.Together they built a loving home where they welcomed family to celebrate many holiday occasions.
Peter will always be remembered as a loving brother to his remaining siblings, Rose Albert, June Peter and Jim Myronyk (Tina Daniels). He was a caring and generous uncle to his nieces Janet Elliott, Jacqueline Peter and Danielle Myronyk, and nephew Jamie McKinnon. As well as his great nephews Glenn and Paul Elliott, Justin McKinnon, Gianni Peter-Carrozza and great niece Mila Peter-Carrozza with whom he spent many fun filled holidays which brought him much comfort and joy over his last remaining years.
Peter loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by his siblings, family as well as his close friends and neighbours.
At Peter’s request, funeral services will be held privately.
