It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Carroll Lynn Birkland, late of Birch Hills, SK, on August 29th, 2023, at the age of 67 years. Carroll was born in Churchbridge, SK, on December 30th, 1955, to Leo and Mildred Johnson.
Carroll grew up on a farm outside of Churchbridge, with her two brothers Bryan and Delmar. When Carroll graduated from High School, she left Churchbridge to attend Central Pentecostal Bible College in Saskatoon, SK. Carroll made numerous friendships during Bible school that lasted throughout her life. Following Bible college Carroll attended SIAST in Saskatoon, SK to become a Registered Nurse. While she was nursing, she met Danny, the love of her life. Danny and Carroll got married on September 3rd, 1977, and moved to Birch Hills, SK, and they raised their three children Jennifer, Clayton, and Melissa.
Carroll loved the Lord and showered God’s love on others every day of her life. Carroll was actively involved at Lake Park Baptist Church for decades. Carroll is well known for her incredible and fierce love for her family. Her children and grandchildren were her absolute pride and joy. Carroll loved people and valued relationships deeply. She was well known for her gracious hospitality, vibrant and caring personality, and love for music. An accomplished pianist, Carroll shared her talents by teaching hundreds of students for more than three decades. Carroll was recognized by the Royal Conservatory of Canada for her excellence in teaching.
Carroll will be lovingly remembered by her husband Danny Birkland; her children Jennifer (Mark) Dalton, Clayton (Lisa) Birkland, & Melissa (Pela) Vereakula; her grandchildren Isaiah Dalton, Claire Dalton, Charlotte Dalton, Levi Birkland, Seth Birkland, Zion Vereakula, & Noella Vereakula; & her brothers Bryan (Trudy) Johnson, and Delmar (Lena) Johnson.
Carroll is predeceased by her parents Leo and Mildred Johnson; her parents-in-law Christian and Evelyn Birkland; & her sister-in-law Judy Wasyluk.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Carroll on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Lake Park Baptist Church in Birch Hills, SK.
