91, died peacefully at the Evergreen Home for Special Needs in Kentville on Saturday August 26th. She was born in Kentville in 1932 to Rosalie Muise and Leo Francis Johnson of Aldershot.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years and, spent time as a Brownie leader. She truly enjoyed her trips to the French shore to visit Metegan and Church Point with hers sisters and Diane.
She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Melanson; Sackville and daughter Diane Ashby; Kentville and brother Albert Johnson; Lakeville and nephews Scott Davidson and Bobby Bigelow.
May will live on in the memory of her two sons, Richard (Rick) Gavel; Sackville, and Aaron Gavel (Trish); Brookfield, sisters Betty, Mrs. Earl Bigelow; Aldershot, Theresa, Mrs. Chet Davidson; Gaspereau, Rosalie, Mrs. Jock Davidson, two brothers, Leo Johnson (Sandra); Petawawa Ontario, Joseph (Joe) Johnson; Moose Jaw Saskatchewan, Step children, Margie, Mrs. Wayne Ryder, Halifax Linda, Mrs. Murray Stenton; Bedford, Gina, Mrs. Robert Millar, William Jr. (Bill) Melanson and her many grand children, great grand child along with nieces and nephews.
