Denis was born in Edmonton, AB, and passed away at Age Care Seton, Calgary, AB.
Denis only had one child, Sonny. When Sonny was just a baby, Denis divorced Sonny’s mother, and he raised Sonny on his own, with some help from Denis’ Mom. Sonny and Denis had a very special Father / Son relationship. He was very proud of Sonny and all his accomplishments.
Denis always loved adventure. In his early 20’s he moved to Vancouver where he worked in aSeagram’s distillery. After that he took numerous months off, and with truck & trailer, explored the Yukon.
Throughout his life he loved camping, fishing, quadding, & other outdoor trips, mainly with Sonny. They also travelled extensively in North America, and other parts of the world.
Denis had various jobs -selling mobile trailers in the 70’s, working at Reed Tools, and for many years he sold Promotional items, mainly in Drayton Valley, and eventually he owned the company. Denis was an outgoing people person, friendly & honest, which contributed to his success.
Good times were spent in Arizona between 2009 and onward. He enjoyed quadding, visiting with friends and the beautiful homes that Sonny bought in the area.
Unfortunately, Denis’s health began to fail, but he was well taken care of. Sonny, Sonny’s lovely wife Zukhra and her daughter, Medna were very attentive to all his needs.
Denis led an interesting, fun life, acquired many friends, and his big personality & laugh will be missed by all. Denis recently said “I have lived a good life.”
