On Monday August 28, 2023 our Mom peacefully passed away at Norview Lodge in Simcoe. Born in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, Alice Elbertha VanLuttikhuizen on July 25, 1932. Beloved wife of the late John Verduyn (1992) and the late Alvin Marr (2008). Loving Mom to Marianne (Dave), John (Kim), Lisa (Ken) Gilbert and Brian (Julie). Loving Grandma to Amanda, Arika, Elisha, Josh, Levi, Davis, Adriane and Brooke and Great-grandma to Olivia, Addison, Gwyneth, Freya, Jackob, Jarrett and Jasmine. Dear sister to Jack VanLuttikhuizen and Tony VanEgdom. Predeceased by her siblings; Maurinus, Frances and Marrigjie. Mom will be missed by her family, many nieces, nephews, the family of Alvin Marr and the many friends she made over the years.
Mom had a passion for many things! Her family first, but she loved to cook, bake, sew and garden along with her greenhouse business. Mom was a long time member of the South Brant Lioness Club, Scotland United Church Women’s Group and sewed many quilts with the Faith Sewing Group in Brantford, and was a champ at making soup.
Family & friends will be received at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford on Friday September 1, 2023 from 11-1 followed by a Funeral Service to be held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment Scotland cemetery.
