Obituary of Paul Hewitt
It is with profound sadness that on Saturday, August 5, 2023, Paul Hewitt left us at the age of 64. Paul was born on October 2, 1958 in Brockville to Paul (pre-deceased) and Margaret (Percival) Hewitt.
Paul was a loving husband to his wife, Joanne. Proud father to Pat and Nick, father-in-law to Natasha and Papa to Jackson and Nixon. He was a loving son to Margaret, and son-in-law to Jack and Nel Bolger. Also survived by his Aunt Royetta, Uncle Roy (pre-deceased), several cousins, nieces and nephews and brother-in-law, Mike Bolger (Teresa) and Peter Bolger (pre-deceased). Paul was pre-deceased by his grandfather Paddy Hewitt.
Paul made a name for himself as a Master Machinist; involved in an array of Motorsports from asphalt to dirt to water. He started Hewitt Automotive & Marine Performance in 1984. He truly was an innovator in the field. His passion for Motorsports was infectious and went beyond the motors themselves, creating friendships far and wide.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life which will be held at Barclay Funeral Home in Brockville on Saturday, August 19th from 1 – 4pm. We will then be raising a glass to Paul at the Keystorm Pub (5pm).
A heartfelt thank you to Paul’s Palliative Care Team and Dr. Ashe.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brockville General Hospital’s Palliative Care Program.
We miss you and love you always

We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Paul Hewitt 2023 and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
Sincere condolences to Joanne, Pat, Nick, and family, thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
I have been fortunate to have known Paul over the past three decades.
A legend in the world of racing, you could feel his passion, his dedication and appreciation. A marvel as a machinist, some might say physicist, a mentor with great compassion for racing, engines and people, a family man, a friend to many, a great influence to all. A pillar in the community with a desire to empower. With his infectous smile and contagious, yet positive attitude towards life, always proud and always excited about the next engine or the next race and I can not leave out his beautiful custom chevy van he enjoyed along the years.
