Irma Joyce Hoogwerf, born January 15, 1940, peacefully passed away at the Brockville General Hospital, surrounded with her family at her side on Friday, August 4, 2023, at the age of 83yrs old. Irma was the daughter of the late Hazel Edna (Foster) and Emery Robert Stephenson of Domville. Beloved wife of the late Marines Hoogwerf, cherished Mother of Sheldon (Carrie), Grant (Tina), Colin (Kim). She was the proud and loving Nanny of Ashley, Meghan, Kyle, Mitchell and Reegan. Irma is survived by, and will be dearly missed by her sisters Linda Stephenson (Georgette) and Sylvia Kelly (the late Ken) and by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Special thanks to the BGH Palliative Care Team and Bayshore Healthcare for the special attention and care to help keep her at home as long as possible.
Friends and Family may gather to celebrate Irma’s life at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 1 – 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in remembrance of Irma to the Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care Foundation or the Canadian Cancer would be appreciated.
