A Life Well Lived
On Wednesday August 2, 2023, Arthur Kitchener Andrews, loving husband, father, and brother passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre. Arthur is survived by his loving wife Ruth of 63 years, their children Kathy (Mick), Chris (Mary), Jennifer (Mike) and Rob. Grandchildren Meghan, Jennifer, Jessica, Blake, Ryan, Mitchell, Cahley and Evan, twelve great grandchildren and his brother Monty (late Linda).
Born in Bristol, England, Art moved to Canada at age 15, along with his parents and two brothers. He met his lifelong partner and sweetheart Ruth about four years later. Together they raised their four children in Bramalea, Ontario and after spending years camping with their family in Killbear Park, they eventually chose to retire in Nobel.
Art worked for most of his life in the printing industry. He enjoyed fishing on Georgian Bay and also was a master at repairing anything mechanical. He was a firm believer in “why pay to have your car fixed if you can fix the problem yourself.” He was always willing to help others in need and his knowledge and skills were appreciated by all. Art loved music, whether it was dancing with Ruth in the living room or local dancehalls or entertaining the family with his harmonica or bones.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and always remembered in their hearts.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound). In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated as Art received exemplary care by the doctors and nursing staff during the past few years.
