Simonato, Joeseph Douglas “Doug” –
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood on Friday July 21, 2023 in his 69th year. Doug Simonato of Collingwood, was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (nee Cameron). Loving father of Ian (Angie). Cherished “Grandpa Duck” of Hudson. Lovingly remembered by his partner Helen, her son Dan (Allie) and her sister Sally (Paul). Cherished brother of Pat Howe, Cathy (the late John) Page and brother-in-law of Brenda (Gerald) Giffen, Glen (Sally) Cameron and Greta Simonato. Lovingly remembered by the extended Simonato, Cameron, Giffen and Leppard families and his many many friends. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Josephine Simonato, brother Chuck Simonato and Helen’s sister Sue.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Chatterson Funeral Home, Collingwood. A private memorial service will be held for his immediate family. A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held at a later date and will be announced once finalized. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug’s memory to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
