Mr. Bhagwat Saran SRIVASTAVA passed away peacefully on 21 July 2023 at the age of 84. “Saran” as he was fondly known, was a lawyer, quality control inspector, published author, and a pioneer of many cultural community activities since immigrating to Canada in 1974 and settling with his family in Cambridge, Ontario. Throughout his lifetime he received many recognitions from community organizations and several Consulate Generals of India to Canada, and participated in Hindi literary events as an accomplished poet. He was the loving husband to Savitri who predeceased him in 2014. He will dearly be missed by his daughter Sarika Bhatnagar (Rajiv), son Atul “Bob” Srivastava, grandchildren Rohit Bhatnagar, Sonali Bhatnagar, Anjali Bhatnagar, and Gabriel Srivastava, in-law Kailash Chander Bhatnagar (Saroj predeceased 2021), nephews and nieces, friends, and those he met in all of his community spheres.
We thank the health care teams at Hamilton General Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, Grand River Hospital, and Freeport Rehabilitation Center for their care and support.

Visitation will take place on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Lounsbury Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm (1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, ON, N3C 1N8; 519-658-9366). Cremation and puja will take place on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Kitchener Funeral Home & Crematorium (3 Forwell Rd., Kitchener, ON N2B 1W3; 519-340-0425)
