Anastasia Helen Eshpeter (Mazeppa)
July 28, 1927 – January 7, 2023
On January 7, 2023, Anastasis Helen Eshpeter (Mazeppa) passed away peacefully at the age of 95 years.
She is survived by her brother, Dan (Mavis); her loving children, sons David (Laura) of Slave Lake and “Bert” Robert (Wanda) of Seba Beach; her beloved grandchildren, Devin, Brendin (Jenn), Terra (Les) and Derek, and nine great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Francis (Bud); her son, Michael and brothers and sisters, Ann, Mike, Steve, John and Lil.
Helen, as she was fondly known, was a lovely gentle lady who was a treasure trove of knowledge, especially about alternative health. Her lifelong use of home remedies, herbs, native plants and holistic health practices was amazing. She was certified as a yoga teacher in 1987 and eventually went on to train and mentor many teachers. This yoga baba with her quiet and soothing ways will be missed by her Yoga and Oilwives family.
We would like to extend our thanks to all the staff of the Drayton Velley Hospital and Care Centre where Helen lived. We appreciate that they looked after mom with such care and dedication.
“On a star, see ya later.”
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local animal shelter.
