It is with great sadness the family of Robert “Bob” Gordon Hunter announce his passing on July 19th, 2023 with the love of his family and staff of Bonnechere Manor by his side. Beloved husband of 55 years to Judy (nee Taylor); dear father of Christopher (Donna) and Michael (Diana Cameron); cherished grandpa of Jacob, Jessica, Kaitlyn, Milo and Opal. Survived by siblings David (Elaine) Hunter and Mike (Lois) Hunter, sister-in-law Marilyn Thorn, and brother-in-law Wayne (Nancy) Taylor. Predeceased by his parents Stewart and Vera Hunter, siblings Joanne Thomson (Ted) and Faye Osadzuk (Bob) and parents-in-law Cameron and Hazel Taylor. Bob will be remembered with love by many nieces and nephews.
Bob will be missed as he was loved by so many family and friends. He will be remembered for his years of involvement in the community with minor and junior hockey and as the founder of Hunter’s Hogs (Head Hog). Bob’s quick wit, sense of humour and outgoing personality allowed him to touch the lives and leave a lasting impression to everyone who knew him.
A special thank you to Dr. DiPaola and the staff of Bonnechere Manor for the wonderful care given to Bob. The loving, comfortable and compassionate care provided helped make Bob’s journey peaceful.
Professional arrangements entrusted to Zohr Family Funeral Home, Renfrew. As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Friday, July 28th, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Renfrew Legion. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Sunshine Coach (Friends of the Disabled), the Bonnechere Manor Foundation, or Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
