After a lengthy illness the family of John Hackett announce his peaceful passing on Thursday, July 20th, 2023 at Bobby’s Hospice. John will be dearly missed by his wife Kathy (Blizzard), his children David (Natasha LeBlanc), Patti Townsend (David Gallant) and Beverly Underhill (Ronnie Baxter). Much loved brother of Linda Hackett (Mike), Judy Daigle (the late Roger), and the late Bill Hackett and brother-in-law of Joyce, Suzanne and Janet. John is the proud grandfather of Abby, Brady, Charlie, Claire, Logan, Sarah, and Anna. He will also be greatly missed by many other family members and friends. He worked at the Irving Oil Refinery for more than 30 years, first as a machinist then as a maintainence supervisor. John was a man of many interests: he enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting, was a fan of the Boston Bruins and a season ticket holder for the Seadogs. He cared greatly for all of his pets over the years. John was an avid gardener, and could often be found working on his jigsaw puzzles. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, July 24th, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A Private Family Funeral Liturgy will follow at a later date. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations to Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
