Joyce Lillian Cook
86, of Tantallon passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in White Hills Long Term Care Center, Hammonds Plains. She was the daughter of the late Wentworth and Maggie (Slaunwhite) Boutilier. She was a retired secretary, having worked for Adult Education and National Defence for 16 years. Illness forced her into early retirement. She was an avid bowler and card player. She was a choir member of several churches. She knitted for the Salvation Army and Guardian Angels as well as for family and craft shops. She also enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Wade) Wilson, Queensland; Tanya (Derek) Gadsden, Head St. Margarets Bay; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; Predeceased by her sisters, Ethel Kennedy, Geraldine Stevens; brothers, Wayne and Bertram Boutilier. A celebration of life will be held 11 am Thursday, July 27 in the Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, 13549 Peggy’s Cove Road, Upper Tantallon. A special thank you to the staff of White Hills for Joyce’s extended care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
