1934-2023
Surrounded by her beautiful family the passing of Sadie T.
(Martin) Richard, beloved wife of the late Francois Joseph Richard Sr.
of Blacks Harbour NB, occurred on July 14,2023 at the Charlotte County
Hospital, St. Stephen NB. Born at Rogersville NB, on January 1,1934
she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Exsillina (Belliveau)
Martin.
A devoted wife, loving mother,
grandmother, and sister, she is survived by her children: Dorothy
“Dot” Gullison of St. Stephen NB, Sadie Richard of Blacks
Harbour NB, Arthur “Art” (Gail) Richard of St. Stephen NB,
Frank Jr. (Barb) Richard of Blacks Harbour NB, Shirley (Clifford)
Blanchard of Pennfield NB, Yvonne (Rick) Lloyd of Musquash NB, Debra
LaPointe of Utopia NB, Lori Richard of St. Stephen NB, Alex Sprague of
St. Stephen NB; grandchildren: Douglas, Theresa, Shelley, Leigh, Tina,
Shane, Ronnie, Steven, John, Melinda, Shawn, Shauna, Frankie III,
Cliff, Jesse, Erin, Christopher, Cody, Rebecca, Rob; 35
great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren; her brother Leon
Martin of Pennfield NB; sister Marie Deauville of Bellisle NB
as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to
her parents, Sadie was predeceased by her beloved husband Frank Sr.,
children Joseph, Eloise, and Eloie son in laws Ronald
Gullison Sr., and Ed LaPointe Jr.; brother Eloie Martin,
brother-in-law Richard Deauville Sr.; sister-in-law Andrea
Martin.
Prior to her retirement Sadie was a
childcare provider for the community while raising her own large
family. She was known as Mama-Sadie to many. She will be remembered
for her cooking and was known as an avid bingo player. Sadie loved and
lived music, both as a performer and as a teacher to her children all
her life. She was so proud of her beautiful and musical family and
lived for each and every one of them. She had a unique time of day
that she would call each one of her children. She was the mother of
her family and many others. She will be remembered for her quick wit,
amazing sense of humor and one “quick hand”. She will be
sadly missed by her family and many in the community.
Arrangements in the care of the St.
George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB.
Visitation will be held at the St. George Funeral Home, St. George NB
on Sunday July 16, 2023from 6-8pm, the family will be reciting the
Rosary at 3:00 pm for any who would like to attend. Visitation on
Monday July 17,2023 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Catholic Church,
Blacks Harbour NB on Tuesday, July 18,2023 at 2:00 pm. The interment
will follow in the church cemetery. In Sadie’s memory,
donations to The Red Cross or New Brunswick Extra Mural St. George, or
charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the
family.
