Katherine Elizabeth Beger (Ridgewell)
First daughter of Wilfred & Katherine Ridgewell. Most beloved mother of Susan Beger (Matthew Ewing), Kara Long (Mark). “Best Grandma Ever” to Taylor Bennett (Matt), Tori Roovers, Ethan & Grace Long. Special Great Grandma to Dreyden Roovers & Kinsleigh Bennett. Step Grandmother to Mitchell, Savannah & Nick Ewing. Loved sister of Maryellen Collins (Len & the late Russell), Nancy Dupuis (late – Danny) & Amy Vreman (Peter). Beloved aunt to Christine Morton-Elliott (Brian) & Michelle White. Cherished by nephews Calvin & Zack Vreman, and great nieces/nephews Lauren & Elizabeth Elliot, and Tyler & Austin White. Katherine worked at St. Clair College for a joyful eternity and was a great lover of education (and proper grammar). It was at the College that she met the love of her life Ronald Malkin. They spent many happy days traveling, wintering in Florida and enjoying their loved ones in Windsor. Kathy adored the family Ron brought into her life, Melanie & Chris Patton and cherished grandchildren Amber & Rachel.
Kathy, also known as the Queen, lived her life with grace and class. She was so proud to have made great friends in her card club ladies, High Point Florida ladies, and especially her cherished Old Wives Club ladies. Kathy spent her final days fighting to stay alive with Sue & Kara and her team of loved ones by her side. She made her own decision to let go and left the world in the embrace of her daughters. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Mehta & staff at Victoria Hospital and also Dr. De Perrot & staff at Toronto General.
Kathy is to be cremated on Monday, July 10th (coincidentally, on her 77th birthday). A celebration of life will take place at Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery on July 16th from 1-4 pm.

We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Katherine Beger 2023 and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
So sorry to hear of Kathy’s passing. We worked together in the Registrar’s office for many years. She was always there for me when I needed her and yes so helpful with her grammar and writing skills.
I’m sorry I never kept in touch after I retired.
I considered her a great and trustworthy friend.
Rest in peace Kathy. You were so loved! You knew what mattered.
Love Becky Queen
