Mosher, Brian Weldon –Age 69 of Elderbank, passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2023 in Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital, Musquodoboit Harbour.
Born in Middleton, he was a son of Weldon Mosher and the late Maxine (Parks) Mosher.
Brian married the love of his life, Lisa, in 1983. The two built a life together in Middle Musquodoboit where they welcomed three children: Seth, Justin & Holly. As the family grew, so did the house with Brian working to turn what once was a chicken coop into a cozy home for his family. Brian was a devoted father who could often be found coaching ball, shuttling kids (his own and others) to practice or music lessons and generally cheering on his children and their accomplishments. Brian was a true family man who left his home in “Middle” to move to Elderbank to help care for his in-laws in their advanced age. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he could be found at the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission where he worked for 37 years. In retirement, Brian found new joy in being “Papa” to his two grandchildren Libby and Lucas who were the apples of his eye. Brian is best described as a gentle and quiet guy, except when it came to fishing. He talked about fishing 12 months of the year, his stories getting better each time he told them. His passion for fishing was closely followed by his love for ball and golf and he was able to enjoy all three up until his cancer diagnosis in September 2022. Brian successfully beat cancer and was full of optimism for all of the things the future held.
He will always be loved and missed by his wife, Lisa (Keddy); sons, Seth (Natalie), Justin (Meghan); daughter, Holly; grandchildren, Libby and Lucas; brothers, Laurie (Wendy), Darrell (Rose); sister, Darlene (Carter); several nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by brother, Anthony in infancy; father and mother-in-law, Joe and Freda Keddy; son-in-law, Brandon Boutilier.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 8 at 11 a.m. in St. Andrews United Church, Elderbank with Rev. Allan Lynk officiating.
Family flowers only. Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia would be appreciated.

  1. Brian and I played ball together, he was the pitcher and I was the catcher for the Upper Musquodoboit team for years. Brian was a good athlete and all around close friend during our teenage years.
Please accept my sincere condolences to the family.

  2. I am so sorry for your loss. Brian was a wonderful person from a wonderful family. I spent many happy weekends at Darlene and Brian’s as a teenager.
My deepest and heartfelt sympathies to Lisa, Darlene and the family.
    Linda
