Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George William Parry, at the age of ninety, who left us peacefully with his wife by his side. George’s vibrant spirit and zest for life touched the hearts of everyone he encountered. His greatest joy was the loving family he nurtured alongside his beloved wife of sixty-eight years, Barbara, whom he leaves behind. George will forever be remembered as a cherished father to his children, Linda (Brad), Laura (Brian), George and Mark. He embraced his role as a father, offering guidance, wisdom and unwavering love. George’s impact extended further through the lives of his grandchildren, Peter (Meghan), Dustin (Valerie), Mark (Hannah), Amanda (Neil), Patrick (Fatima), Laura (Patrick), Megan (Mike), George and Kaelynne; as well as his great-grandchildren Owen, Declan, Isla, Everley and Rylee, all of whom brought him such joy.
Professionally, George was a dedicated Mechanical Superintendent for the City of York for over forty years and happily retired in 1994. He enjoyed golfing with his family, reading a good book, singing along to his favourite songs, watching the hockey game, going for drives in the country with his wife, and starting up a conversation with just about anyone. Loving Father, Papa, Great Papa, and friend. His presence will be deeply missed, but his infections smile, laughter, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family will be remembered by all those who knew him.
As per George’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be a private celebration of life. Please sign the Tribute Wall.
