It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Doran Lavigne, husband of the late Brigitte (Vienneau) Lavigne, which occurred at his residence on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the age of 92.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Emery and Elizabeth (David) Lavigne.
Doran was a Korean veteran and a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 of the Royal Canadian Legion Bathurst. He was employed for several years as a pipe fitter at the former Belledune Smelter.
Dad will always be remembered as a man who was devoted to taking care of his family. We will always remember him for his kindness of giving to his family and help towards the needy and less fortunate. Our dad was grateful and appreciative of nature as he spent much time in the great outdoors. His greatest pastime was fishing, planning hunting trips with his wife and other family members. They also enjoyed camping trips while spending time as a family. He was a beautiful signer who really enjoyed family gatherings and had great passion for music. You will be remembered by each of us dad, through the eyes of God.

He is survived by his children: Michael (Debbie), Diane Boudreau (Roger), Keith (Monique), Dean, Blair (late Raymonde), Danny (late Brenda), and Vanessa Abernethy (Matthew).
Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
One brother, Ronnie Lavigne (Claudette).
Sisters: Claudette Duguay (Raymond), Sharon Garrett (Roger), Annette Spindler (Lovette).
Several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by brothers: Bernard, Roger, Clarence and Donald; sisters: Imelda Arseneau, Bernadette Babin, Mary Gray, Isabelle Aubie, Margaret Chamberlain and Rena Pitre.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at a date and time to be announced.

Donations in memory of Doran may be made to any charity benefiting the less fortunate or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
