Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Bill MacGillivray announces his peaceful passing on Friday June 23, 2023. Bill was a dedicated and adored husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Born on November 6, 1955 in Montreal, Quebec. He was the son of Kenneth and Barabara MacGillivray.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Pamela, their children Courtney (Brian), Kylie (Zach), Camille (Benn), his grandchildren Rhett, Faye, Rae, Iris, and his sister Kenda (Jeff). He will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Bill was a McGill University graduate, a football player for the feeder team to The Montreal Alouettes and represented Ontario in the sport of Rugby which became his game of choice. He was also a successful business man. He was one of the founders for the North Halton Hills Girls Twisters, on many Boards for hockey, rugby, Clydesdales Associations, local Fairs and The Royal Winter Fair. Bill has received many awards for his contributing efforts from the Hockey Heritage and the Ontario Equestrian Federation. Bill was raised breeding Clydesdales and continued the legacy until his daughters helped him switch to Sport Pony breeding. Bill loved every dog, horse, cat, rat, fish, turtle and crow that crossed his path.
Bill was always the most charismatic person in the room. There was not anyone he couldn’t make laugh or smile. Constantly cracking a joke! We will miss his big, kind heart, his over use of ‘I love you’ and his incredible infectious laugh.
Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home Thursday June 29th, 2023, 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Celebration of life held on Friday June 30th at 11am.
