It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Vera C. Allen on June 22, 2023, at her residence, the Dr. V. A. Snow Center. Beloved wife of the late Ronald E. Allen, Born in Havelock, NB, on June 10, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Emery and Janice (Corey) Kierstead.
She is survived by her son, Trevor (Stacey) Allen, her step-children: Henry (Brenda) Allen, Sharon (John) Goobie, and Crena (Peter) Peters, grandchildren; Matthew, Michael, Melanie, Nathan, Anna, Don, Lisa, Natasha, Jonathan, Josh and Michael, great-grandchildren; Blake, Ryder, Noah, Hayden, Karleigh, Gavin, Macie, Katie, Kristen, Jessica, Sara, Katelyn, Walker, Madison, Lauren, Jack and Jonah. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-great grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Corey, brother Pearley Kierstead and stepdaughter Beverley (Bob) Sheppard.
Known for her kindness and passion for baking she was affectionately known as “Gram” to everyone.
Anyone who dropped by was sure to receive a warm hug, a full stomach and left with a heart full of love Thank You to the terrific staff at Dr VA Snow center who took great care of her the last 6 weeks. Until recently she was living at the Dr Snow center apartments where she enjoyed spending time with friends chatting, laughing and doing puzzles.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). At her request there will not be any visiting or a funeral service. Following cremation, interment will take place at the Mosher Hill Cemetery. Remembrances can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
