Mary “Bunny” Bernice Kinney
1932-2023
The passing of Mary “Bunny” Bernice Kinney, wife of
the late Arnold F. Kinney occurred peacefully at her residence in
L’Etete NB on June 22, 2023 with her loving family at her
side.
Born in Summerville MA on December 5, 1932, she was a
daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Hayes) Matthews. A loving
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Bunny will always be loved
and remembered by her son: Dana Kinney of L’Etete NB;
daughters: Ellen (James) Crowley of Baring ME, Ann Kinney (John
Brownrigg) of Chamcook NB, Sarah (Kenny) Kilbride of Calais ME and
Diane Comeau of Lynn MA; her grandchildren: Vanessa, Justin, Tara,
Lauren, John, Corey, Matthew, Ashley, DJ, Tracey, Billy and Jennifer;
six great-grandchildren: Dylan, Charlie, Olivia, Nathan, Aria and
Brady; and several cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bunny was predeceased
by one son: Daniel Kinney.
Prior to retirement, Bunny worked in Massachusetts for an
electronics company in the quality control department. Upon
retirement, Bunny and Arnold settled back in New Brunswick to live out
their golden years near the Bay of Fundy. Bunny was an animal lover
who enjoyed feeding all the local cats and watching the hummingbirds.
In her spare time, she loved to attend local Bingo games, puzzles,
playing cards, going on adventures with her granddaughter Vanessa and
being in the company of her family. The family wants to give a special
thank you to the Extra-Mural nurses.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Although there will
be no visiting, a service will be held from the St. George Funeral
Home Chapel, St. George NB on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 2:00 pm with
Conrad Cline officiating. A private family interment will be held at
the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Bunny’s memory, donations
to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by
the family.
