Tracy Lynn McRae passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2023 in Chatham with family by her side. Born October 25th in Montreal Quebec 63 years ago and raised in Lachute Quebec. Tracy spent the summers of her youth living with her grandparents in Argenteuil Quebec, riding horses and exploring the Laurentides. Daughter of Mary Anne Laurin (2015) and Ian Hartley McRae (2008). Partner of James Gallacher of Montreal Quebec, for over 31 years. Mother of 3 Children, John Gallacher, David Gallacher, and Kelly Gallacher. Sister of December, Debbie, Laurie and the late Douglas McRae (2009).
Tracy will be remembered as an animal lover and saviour. She rescued dozens of animals over her life, care-taking and nursing by hand injured and infant animals who had been abandoned. She was also a passionate fan of scary movies (Especially low budget films), David Bowie and going on long walks with her dogs and children. She is deeply missed and will be forever remembered. Tracy was a vocal advocate for animal rights and would love for people to support animal rescue charities in her name.
There will be a private small ceremony with the family on Saturday June 24th in Chatham, followed by a gathering in Argenteuil to be arranged for late summer.
