Obituary
BYRON CURTIS DEARDOFF
January 28, 1955 – June 14, 2023
Our family is both shocked and heartbroken to announce the passing of Byron Deardoff on June 14, 2023 surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Byron lived life to the fullest. Throughout his life Byron was active in hockey, baseball, golf and riding motorcycles, but held the most passion for racing. Byron began racing in Wetaskiwin at the Edmonton International Raceway driving Hobby Stocks and Thunder Cars and then his love for Super Trucks took over. Byron was an instrumental part of forming the Canadian Super Truck Racing Series and spent 27 years racing across Western Canada. Byron was the series Champion in 2005 and loved every minute of racing and being with friends at the track, whether racing or helping one another out.
Byron didn’t just love racing cars and trucks, he also loved smashing them up and spent several years travelling to Demolition Derby’s with friends and having great fun! Byron loved camping and boating and spent many, many wonderful summers with friends and family enjoying the time together. He was always up to taking the kids out tubing rain or shine! Byron and Melody loved to travel and were always looking forward to the next adventure somewhere.
Byron loved vehicles and anything with a motor! He would fix them up, paint them and add his own special touch.
While Byron loved playing ball and hockey, he also coached Kirk’s hockey team, and more recently he has become the number one fan of watching his grandchildren sports and dance.
Byron’s passion was in helping people. Byron and Melody proudly owned and operated Future Essentials for 35 years. His career as a Naturopath has taken him all over the Province and he considered many of his clients his friends and family and was always willing to listen and lend a hand. Through his caring and kind spirit he was able to understand and see into our bodies without us ever mentioning anything out loud. His knowledge of Shotai, Iridology, Muscle Testing and alternative natural healing & herbal medicines was extensive. He had such a gift of healing, bringing hope in a truly caring way to so many people over the years. This gift he had will truly be missed.
Byron had a huge heart and his kind and loving nature will be missed by so many. When you hear his name, you can’t help but have an image of him smiling and laughing. He will be forever loved and missed.
Byron is survived by the love of his life Melody, son Kirk, daughter Natasha and granddaughter Malauni, daughter Sherri (Coady), granddaughters Akeera and Leyara; daughter Karlee (Steve) grandchildren Rilyn, Dawson, Emily and Lane; mother-in-law Elpha Guss; brother Daryl (Loretta) as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a ton of friends.
Byron was a man like no other, he changed many people’s lives, and was a world changer!
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Please feel free to leave condolences on the Tribute Wall.
