LEBRETON, Lorraine (nee Wedge) –
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Lorraine. She passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 81 years old.
Lorraine will be tremendously missed by her soul mate and best friend of 53 years, Yvon. Together, they built a life full of love, happiness, and adventure. They loved to spend their summers camping and traveling across the country with their trailer and big red truck. Lorraine always looked forward to weekends when Yvon would take her to bingo or the casino.
Lorraine was most proud of being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cared deeply for those in her life, near and far. She showed her love through the meals she cooked and the many blankets she made for everyone.
Loving mother to Connie (John), Jean-Rene (Julie), late Gary (Liza), Wayne (Sue), and Suzanne. Cherished grandmother to Crystal (Dave), Kayla (Dar), Emma, Megan, Jen, Maureen, Anthony, Josie, Charlotte, Izzy, and Alysha. Beloved ‘Honey’ to Basil, Mira, and Percival, and great-grandma to Ryleelyn, Haylynn, and Andrew. Dear sister to Flo (late Albert), late Lil (Bob), and Greg (Paulette). She will also be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Henry and Juliette Wedge.
Lorraine meant so much to so many people. She will be remembered for her strong will, her tender heart, and the love she had for her family.
The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland, on Wednesday, June 14 from 6-8pm. A service to celebrate her life will be held in the Cudney Chapel on Thursday at 11am. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
