It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Eva Mae
Comeau of Fredericton, N.B. On June 5th, 2023. Born August 16, 1935 in
Blissfield, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Lou
(O’Donnell) Ward.
Eva is survived by her son Richard Comeau (Sue) of Langley
B.C., Grandson Dave Richardson (Lisa) of North Vancouver B.C.,
Granddaughter Carianne (Tony) of Langley B.C., Great grandchildren
Olivia and Mason, and her best friend and Sister Gail Clowater. Also
survived by Sister-in-law Debbie Ward, Brother-in-law Charlie Comeau,
several nieces, nephews and cousins and a special great niece Robyn
who always happened to be around when needed and spent many nights
with her.
Besides her parents, Eva was predeceased by her Husband Ken,
Brother Tommy Ward, and Brother-in-law Lloyd Clowater.
Eva was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Anglican
Church, McEvoy street. She enjoyed travelling with her sister and
friends, and was known for her witty remarks and speaking her
mind.
A few years ago a couple, Waleed and Fiza of Pakistan, moved
in next door and became her adopted grandchildren, they became very
special to her.
Eva had many people she wanted to thank, Father Nicholas,
Father Kevin and Father Jon who visited her during her illness. Also
Dr. Campbell from Oncology SJ, Dr. Kara Allan, the doctors and
extramural nurses from the palliative care team who visited at the
house and the staff at DECH who helped keep her comfortable in her
final days.
A funeral will be held at a later date, August 9, 2023 with
visiting hours from 11am to 1pm at St. Mary’s Anglican
Church on McEvoy Street followed by the funeral service at 1pm. Burial
will take place following the service at Clay Hill Cemetery in
Doaktown. A luncheon will take place, location to be announced at the
service
