James “Jim” Murray Jackson, 70, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, in Chatham, after a brief illness.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Sarah, his children Kenneth and Shannon, son in law Dhruv, nieces Sara and Kristen, and great-niece Amirah. He will be missed also by many members of his extended family. Following Jim’s wishes, he will be cremated with a celebration of life to follow at a later time. His ashes will be laid to rest with his beloved pets Mikey, Teddy, and Grace, so that they may play frisbee together forever.
We remember Jim as an active member of the community who gave of himself everyday to support the organizations that he loved: the local sportsman clubs, Air Cadets (Squadrons 291/294 and the former Ipperwash Training Centre), and hunter safety training programs that he had been involved in since 1971. Jim leaves behind a legacy of 100s of hunter safety and firearms safety courses in Chatham-Kent, touching the lives of thousands of students. He was always happy to share in the love of the sport and patiently show newcomers the ropes.
We will miss his knack for telling a good story, his dedication, and the care he took in everything he did.
In lieu of flowers, please consider spending time teaching someone you love about the outdoors.
