CORBEAU, Donna Phylis Marie (nee WHITMORE), 1942 – 2023.
Donna’s family is profoundly sad to announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Centenary Hospital, Scarborough.
She will be lovingly remembered by Tony, her husband of 15 years and friend for sixty. Donna leaves behind her sisters Betty Macdonald, Warna Cooper and Lois Whitmore. Donna is pre-deceased by sisters Velma Shaw, Caryll Kitchener and Ann Whitmore
Donna was an aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was affectionately known as “Grannie” to Tony’s great-grandchildren.
Donna had a long and rewarding career at the (then) Workers’ Compensation Board. Following her retirement Donna worked tirelessly as a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society; having once been named York Region’s Volunteer of the Year.
The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care and nursing staff at Centenary who worked tirelessly to provide Donna with comfort and compassion.
The family will receive friends at the Ward Funeral Home, Woodbridge Chapel, 4671 Highway #7, Woodbridge, (Phone: 905-851-9100 or 1-888-836-6757 | Email: woodbridge@wardfh.com) on Wednesday, May 31 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will take place in the chapel on Thursday, June 1 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Glendale Cemetery, 1810 Albion Rd. at Hwy 27, Etobicoke ON.
If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Donna’s memory, to the Canadian Cancer Society.
