Rev. James McGee
1933 – 2023
Jim was born in Glasgow, Scotland, U.K. in 1933. He married Margaret Sloan in 1955. Jim, Margaret and their two daughters immigrated to Canada in 1961. He worked in downtown Toronto until 1972 when Jim began pastoral studies at MacMaster Divinity College. He pastored many churches in Ontario as well as an Area Pastor for the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec.
Jim leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Margaret Sloan. He also truly loved his daughters Meg Ostropolec, husband Pete, and Cathy Aspden, her late husband Reg (2004). Bebop is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Ben (Elisa), Dave (Brandy), Matt (Amy), Lacey (Dave), Hailey (the late Mike 2021), Buddy, Daniel, Mike (Nicole), the late Sammy (2008), Jacey (Justin), and his great grandchildren Seth, Gabby, Travis, Jacob, Hudson, Felix, Emerson, Harper, Theo, Wade, Ryan, Ivy, Peya and Kaylee.
Bebop was a gracious servant of the Lord. He loved to talk about Christ and having a relationship with his Saviour. On Tuesday, January 4, Jim was welcomed into His Presence. His faith became sight.
Bye Bebop, you were amazing and loved!
Till we meet again…..
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
