It is with great sadness that the family of Myles Don Slauenwhite, 67, of Riverport passed on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at home.
Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Carmen Lloyd and Gladys Marie (Rafuse) Slauenwhite.
At an early age of 14 Myles had his calling for the sea.He spent 40 years in the fishing industry, from scalloping, fish dragging, calming and crab.
Eleven years ago Myles made the decision to join Dexter’s Construction his only regret is he wished he had joined Dexter’s 10 years before. In his spare time you would find him in the wood pile & collecting scrap metal.
Myles’s was not just a husband, dad, poppy or friend. He was a caring, giving, hard worker that would help family or a stranger if he could.
The biggest thing Myles’s provided was Love and friendship.
Myles is survived by his wife Brenda; daughters, Angela Demone, Middlewood, Anderia (Ian Marshman) Slauenwhite, Montreal, Wendy Todd, Bridgewater, Victoria (James Wilcox) Anderson, Truro, Katherine (William Profit) Hirtle, Morristown; sons, Shawn Slauenwhite, Moncton, Reg (Brittany Hirtle) Tibbo, Rose Bay, Roy Tibbo, Pine Grove, Devonte (Bianca Poole) Slauenwhite, Martin’s River; thirty-nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Conrad, Bridgewater, Sharon (Frank) Massey, Northwest; brothers, Kevin (Donna), Mapleridge, BC, Carmen (Ann), Hebbville, Brian (Doreen), Hebbs Cross, Vincent (Nancy), Lower LaHave; sister-in-law, Audrey Slauenwhite, Head of Chezzetcook, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased brothers Louis, in infancy, Malcolm, Lewis, Warren, Wayne and Gary.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Trinity United Church, Rose Bay, Rev Vivian Moores officiating. Interment to follow in Shepherd’s Hill Cemetery, Riverport
