Obituary
George Kennedy from Lakeview, Harbour Main passed away suddenly on Thursday, May, 2023 at home in his 86th year.
He was predeceased by his wife Marion (nee Walsh) in 2016, parents; John and Bride Kennedy, parents-in-law; John and Anastasia Walsh, sisters: Lillian, Vera, Theresa and Dorothy and brothers; Lawrence and Joseph.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his daughters: Laura (Billy), Kim and Bridgette (Devon), son Lawrence (Dean), grandchildren: Emily, Evan, Brooklyn (Sam), Jorgia, Cole and Lucy, sisters: Mary Connolly and Angela (Phil) Duke, brother John, sisters-in-law; Rose (John) Dalton and Lillian Walsh, brothers-in-law: Kevin (Bernie), Dan (Patsy) and John (Marg).
Dad went to work at the US Base in Argentia when he was only 17. He worked there 38 years until he retired at age 55. Dad was a kind, gentle, loving man of few words. He loved his garden, being outdoors and most of all he put his family first.
Resting at Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood, visitation will be held on Monday, May 22nd from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Tuesday, May 23rd from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Harbour Main on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with cremation to follow.
Flowers gratefully accepted or if friends so desire, donations in George’s memory may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish.
