Died at home, as she wished, surrounded by family
Predeceased by her husband of 61 years Gordon (deceased 2008). Beloved mother of Tom & Sally, Steve & Tina, Ken & Patti, Heather & Steve Rowe, Keith & Lisa and Glenn & Marny. Beloved Nana to 12 grandchildren and Great-Nana to 12 great-grandchildren & one on the way. Sister of the late Helen & Charlie Burdett and will be missed by her nephew David Burdett and nieces Barb Wilkins and Joan Bruce. Her parents were Charles & Lillian Mitchell (Davies) of London, England.
Doreen was a member of Trinity United Church UCW and Providence – Shaw’s Women’s Institute. She was a volunteer with Community Care Durham for 35 years.
Visitation will be held at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 116 Church Street, Bowmanville on Friday January 13th, 2023 from 10 – 11 am. A Memorial Service will be held in the church at 11 am. Arrangements entrusted to NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Community Care Durham or Clarington Animal Shelter.
