It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother. Verna Janet Campbell (Reavie), daughter of Charles and Marjorie Reavie. Predeceased by William Arnold Campbell, her cherished and beloved husband of 59 years. Shining matriarch of our family, who loved and was loved in return by her children, Lauraine (Keith) Johnston, Bruce Campbell (predeceased 1982), Debbie (Kenny) Bell, and Glenn (Kyla) Campbell. Adored grandmother to Nicole (Shaun) Krosse, Andrea (Eric) Bennett, Emily (Duncan) Moffat, Jessica (Pascal) Meier, Taylor (Patricia) Bell, Brandon (Christian) Bell and honored Gigi to 8 great-grandchildren. Eldest sister to Morris (Judy, d) Reavie, Lois (Don) Wise, Basil (Mary) Reavie, Wanda (Bob) Mahoney. Sister-in-law to Audrey (d) (Ralph, d) Horner, Ken (Joan, d) Campbell, Doug (d) (Marjorie) Campbell, Lyle (Faye) Campbell.
A lifelong teacher to us all, teaching the importance of independence, love, patience, and acceptance of everyone.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. The service will be livestreamed (search YouTube for “BarkerFH Verna Campbell” starting at 12:55 p.m. Interment at Dewar Cemetery.
Donations to Canadian Cancer Society and Carleton Place & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
