Obituary of Melinda Marie Mugford
Melinda Marie Mugford, beloved mother, daughter, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend; passed suddenly December 28th, 2022, at the age of 44. She is survived by her two daughters Riley and Tamara, and two grandchildren, Everleigh and Roman Coates.
To all who knew her, Melinda was a vivacious, loyal, spunky, and strong-willed; kind, and tenacious with a loving and gracious spirit. She enjoyed doing all things outdoors. Loved all the children, and she was loved by them all, especially nieces and nephews, who all called her aunt Nina. Crafty and loved building fires, mouth of a sailor and a smile that lit up the room. There was nothing she wouldn’t attempt.
Born and raised in Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL, where she later started her family and remained until recently when she moved to Alberta.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her mother: Marilyn Mugford; husband: Jamie Hall; Daughters: Riley Anthony (Matthew) and Tamara Anthony (Christopher); Stepdaughter: Rayah Penney; granddaughter: Everleigh Coates; grandson: Roman Coates; Grandmother Delphine Richards; brother: Deon Bushey; sisters: Melissa Mugford, Myrna Gillam (Dion), Michelle Mugford, and Mandy Mugford (Jeffery); nephews: Mason, Cody, Broc, and Maddox; nieces: Brittany, Chantelle, Blaire; great-nephews: Noah, Elliott, Ben, and Quinton; great-nieces: Scarlett, Gabriella, and Emery.
Melinda was predeceased by her father: Philip Mugford; grandfather: Thomas Mugford; aunts: Joan Mugford, and Ellen Mugford; great-grandparents: Aaron and Ellen (Blanchard) Hancock; Robert and Hannah Mugford; great-uncle: Leander Hancock; uncle: Clifford Richards; cousin: Dana Richards; grandfather: Kenneth Randell; grandmother: Susan (Pittman) Randell; and uncle: Dilys Randell.
Visitation services will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 from the hours of 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m.; and again on Sunday, January 8th, 2023 from the hours of 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m.
A funeral service is scheduled to take place on Monday, January 9th, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Bethel Pentecostal, Happy Valley – Goose Bay, NL with Pastor Wayne Noble officiating. There will be a reception to follow the funeral service at the Masonic Lodge. There will be no interment at this time.
