Remembered in Love
Clara Alice Barron – 91, Tatamagouche, passed away April 26, 2023 in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in New Annan, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Winnifred (McGlashing) Flanagan.
Clara enjoyed gardening, quilting, yard sales and was most famous for her homemade pickles! She was employed for many years at the Kentville Sanitorium and in later years worked in the food service industry for being employed at the Lady Wentworth and in Tatamagouche. She took great interest and care in her customers, always going the extra mile. During this time, she met Merle MacEachern and for the next 25 years, they enjoyed travelling, spending time together and maple syrup season at Byers Lake. Family was important to Clara, her grandsons being her entire world. An avid hockey fan, her and Merle travelled all over the province to watch her grandsons play. Hockey Tournaments and Hospitality Rooms were her gem!
She is survived by daughter, Janet Barron (Preston Richter), West New Annan; grandsons, Matt McKay (Lindsey), Halifax, Andrew Barron (Casey), Tatamagouche; also survived daughter, Valerie Deyarmond, (Jeffery), Pictou; granddaughters, DeAnna (Raymond), Birch Hill, Christa (Jamie), Gibbons, Alta; Stephanie (Stephen), Glenholme; great grandchildren, Jackie (Trent) and Tim both of Truro; four great – great grandchildren; brother, John Flanagan (Cheryl Johnson), Central Onslow; Carole Henderson, Kingston, Ont.
