Peak passed away peacefully at the age of 68 at home in Wiikwemkoong with his loving family by his side. Born in Manitowaning on June 13, 1954, Peak was adopted as a newborn into the family of the late John David Manitowabi and Agatha nee Mendoshkin.
Loving godson to Mary Grace McGregor and Dominic Odjig (predeceased).
Beloved Dad to Deborah Trudeau (Richard), Tammy Peltier (Jonathan), Frankie Atchitawens, Angel Thibeault (Keith), Peak Jr. Manitowabi, Shane Manitowabi (Clarissa), Holly Roy, Maxine Manitowabi (Lawrence), Paige Manitowabi (Dylan), Shonee Wemigwans (Jake), Neil Atchitawens and Tyler Manitowabi (predeceased).
Special Dad to Sebastian Manitowabi and Tina Cooper.
Loving grandpa of 32 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Loving godfather to Vanessa Ominika and Benjamin Jacko.
Dear brother of Shirley (predeceased), Medora Hicks (Don), Mary Grace McGregor (Jim), Veronica (predeceased), Joyce Gauvreau (Gordon), David Manitowabi, Ronald Manitowabi and Jacinta Manitowabi (Rudy).
Predeceased by his father Norman Peltierba and Annie Peltierba.
Dear brother of May Roy, Ronnie Peltier, George Peltier, Virginia Peltier (predeceased), Barbara Peltier, Sandra Peltier, Joanna Pheasant (Chris predeceased), Jennifer Peltier, Winnifred Peltier, Norma Peltier, Natalie Eshkawkogan (Eugene) and Randy C. Trudeauba (Maureen).
Loving nephew to Joe and Roselynda.

Dear brother of Clarence (Debbie), Debra, Mike (Evelyn), Alecouse, Randy (predeceased), Brian (Cynthia), Theresa-Lynn (predeceased), Chris and Patricia (predeceased).
Peak was a special master to his beloved fur babies Blacky, Wiizehs and his cat Smokey (all predeceased).
Peak will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends and will be reunited with his hunting buddies Jimmy Wakegijigba, Lester Manitowabiba, Wilma Manitowabiba, Maxie Trudeauba and Terry Wabegijigba.
Peak Enjoyed trapping back in his younger days. He was an Apple picker in the USA. He was a tree planter and firefighter with MNR. He had his own business Manitowabi Security serving Wiikwemkoong business for years. With that business he always helped anyone needing a job – he always believed in second chances. He was a pool shark back in the schooner days. He was an umpire. Everyone loved his talent. He played baseball for Who’s On Second. He loved the game. He was a hockey player #14 for the Firebirds and T-Birds. He was a Zamboni driver at George Bell Arena for 3 yrs. and was Maintenance Technician and Zamboni driver for the Wikwemikong arena for over 20 yrs. He was a hockey coach for Bantoms for 1 season. He loved fishing and hunting with his family and friends, a very skilled moose hunter, and deer hunter. He was a good teacher and mentor to many. He loved taking his children hunting every year and meeting up with friends. He loved his poker nights, bingo, and casino. He loved his quad rides. He loved his camp – a home away from home. He was the ultimate outdoorsman.
Visitation will take place at the Wiikwemikong Arena
on Tuesday, April 25 from 6pm.
Funeral Service will follow at Holy Cross Mission
on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 2pm
