Countryman: Bernice Marie (née Brown) –
A long time resident of Dover Township, Bernice Countryman passed away at the Riverview Gardens with her loving family at her side on April 17, 2023 at the age of 81.
Born in Chatham , Bernice was the daughter of the late Donnie and Vitaline (née Lozon) Brown.
Beloved wife of the late Jack Countryman (2002).
Dear mother to Pam Bullock (Carl), Tim Benoit (Christine), Greg Benoit (Theresa) and Jan St. Pierre (Marc). Proud grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 12.5 great-grandchildren.
Sister-in-law to Marie Anne Brown. Predeceased by her sister Rita VanDeVeire (Amiel), brother Clement Brown, twin brothers , Gerald and Adelard Brown and sister Mae Odette (Treffle).
Bernice will be remembered by her family and friends for her love of camping with family, dancing, country music, playing cards and watching local baseball. She was a member of the ladies alter society at St. Phillipes Church and member of the Dover Kinettes Club.
A special thank-you is extend to the staff at Riverview Gardens for their loving care shown to our mother “Bea”.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate Bernice’s life will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday April 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Philippe Cemetery, Grande Pointe.
Donations made in memory of Bernice to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
