Melissa Maryann Young (Head) was born to her late parents Gerald and Suzette Head on May 9, 1974 at Carrot River Hospital. She was united in Marriage to Eugene David Young on December 4, 1992.
Maryann Melissa received her education at Red Earth where she attended John William Head Memorial Education Centre. She worked as a casual at the daycare and school (teacher’s assistant). She was currently on the W.E.C Education Committee.
Melissa Maryann loved cleaning and cooking for her family and friends especially at family camps. She volunteered to cook at wakes & funerals, she loved to prepare wild meat. She loved outdoor activities such as fishing in the summer or ice fishing. She also liked playing Canasta, Poker and cribbage. She enjoyed watching slopitch and following her husband’s team, “Ninan” and her other family team “Tomana” created by Kendall Sanderson, in memory of brother Merle Head.
A cherished memory was going to Edmonton to watch the Avalanche live with her husband and children. Melissa favorite sayings were, “Mati”, and “We gone”. She will be remembered for her laughter and dancing.
