NENADOVICH, Zvoni – passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 90 years of age. Beloved husband of Katie (Kay) Nenadovich for 70 years. Cherished father of Diane (Bob) MacDonald and David (Kathy) Nenadovich. Proud grandfather of Jennifer Arndt, Kelly MacDonald, Marlene (Ben) Vanderklok, Darren (Kim) Nenadovich, Erika (Bryce) Benson and Ashley and Sarah Bollman. Loved by his great grandchildren Felix and Henry Arndt, Ava Vanderklok, Rylie Nenadovich and Louis Benson. Dear brother to Rosemary (Steve) Lastovic and brother-in-law to Barbara (John d. 2015) Nenadovich. Zvoni will also be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Zvoni was born on January 4, 1932 in Welland, Ontario, Canada. He worked at Stelco for forty years. In his early years, he was a hockey coach and a proud member of the Welland Fire Company, Station 3.
Zvoni was proud of his Croatian and Canadian heritage. He played music with his brother John’s band, named Veseli Becari Tamburitzans. They performed at several events in Welland, including the Welland Rose Festival, sharing their culture and music with the city for many years. Zvoni bled blue and white his whole life as a dedicated Toronto Maple Leafs fan, a love that began at the tender age of 9 in grade 3.
Thank you to the Angels at Rapelje Lodge for their care of Zvoni, including Dr. M. Ali, Zvoni’s long time family physician.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Open Arms Mission (Welland Food Bank), 22 Fifth Street in Welland, as Fifth Street was the very place his Croatian heritage of dancing and music commenced and the very place he met and married the love of his life, Kay.
